Privacy & your newsletter preferences
Who looks after your information: Matthias Zeitler, publisher of Black Sea Living. Contact [email protected] for privacy questions, access, corrections, deletion or to withdraw your newsletter consent.
What you choose: If you subscribe, we record your email address, preferred language, signup time, the version of the consent wording and a private unsubscribe identifier. We use these to manage and send the occasional Black Sea Living newsletter you requested. The guide is also available without subscribing.
Where it is kept: The website and subscriber database are hosted by Cloudflare. Matthias may export the list to manage the newsletter. We do not sell your information. Cloudflare processes website traffic and may process data internationally under its privacy policy and data-processing terms.
Retention and control: Your subscriber record is kept while you remain subscribed. The unsubscribe link provided with newsletters removes your record from the live subscriber database; you may also email Matthias to unsubscribe or request deletion, including exported copies. We respect withdrawals when preparing future mailings. You can request a copy of your data or complain to the relevant data-protection authority.
Site operation: The signup service briefly uses a changing, hashed network-address identifier to limit automated requests. The counter expires after ten minutes and is cleared on subsequent signup traffic. We do not add advertising trackers or analytics cookies. External links have their own privacy practices.
Language preference: A functional cookie remembers your chosen language for six months. On your first visit to the homepage, we use your browser’s preferred languages. You can change languages in the menu at any time.
