A coastal town with a lake on its doorstep

Pomorie occupies a peninsula with the sea around it and the salt lake to the north. This gives you two different ways to spend time outdoors: along the coast or learning about the lake and salt-making landscape. It is a distinct residential option alongside Nessebar and Sveti Vlas.

During a first visit, compare a home in the old-town peninsula with one in the newer part of town. Record the actual address: an advert saying “Pomorie” does not establish the walk to the centre, beach or your chosen services.

Inspect the home for a whole year

A Yavlena advertisement posted on 7 October 2026 offers a furnished 96 m² apartment with two bedrooms in the old town with a €500 headline price, explicitly long-term and year-round. The model interprets the headline as a monthly asking rent; confirm a fixed twelve-month quote. It lists a lift and the fourth floor of seven. This is a dated asking-price example; availability, utilities, deposit and agency charges are unconfirmed.

Our three Pomorie budget routines use this same evidenced home. Before signing, put the twelve-month dates, summer access and all charges in writing. Check heating, ventilation, hot water, internet and the lift in person. The rental guide gives you a handover checklist.

Choose your base around everyday journeys

Use a trial morning to buy breakfast and groceries, find a pharmacy and check how you would reach a routine appointment. Time the route from the building entrance rather than from the neighbourhood name. Test crossings, pavement and the return walk carrying bags; repeat on a windy or wet day if possible.

The municipal administration publishes its address at 5 Solna Street. Keep important addresses and questions in Bulgarian as well as your own language. The everyday-services chapter covers payments, deliveries and practical setup.

There is a concrete winter programme to investigate

The municipality’s 2026 museum schedule includes cold-season opening at the Salt Museum and Lake Pomorie Visitor Centre. For October–May it lists the Salt Museum on weekdays 08:00–16:00 and Saturday 10:00–16:00; Sunday closed. The lake centre lists Tuesday–Friday 08:00–16:00 and Saturday 10:00–16:00; Sunday and Monday closed. Reconfirm before a special journey.

This gives you useful places to try beyond beach season. For a real winter week, also ask about current events, restaurants and repeatable adult activities. The seasonal guide helps you test the home as well as the town.

Make the lake a learning outing

Start at the Lake Pomorie Visitor Centre rather than assuming every lakeside track is a public walking route. Ask staff about birdwatching, suitable paths and any current restrictions. The Salt Museum gives a second way into the landscape, through salt production.

The museum operator publishes €2.05 for an individual adult ticket. Other municipal tourism pages show older prices, so we use the operator’s stated euro price and recommend checking it before visiting. A cultural visit is one option for your week; it does not need to become a paid daily activity.

Separate everyday care from rehabilitation

Pomorie’s municipal useful-phones page lists MBAL Pomorie registration at +359 890 115 205. For rehabilitation enquiries, SBR–NK’s Pomorie branch publishes 7 Prof. Parashkev Stoyanov Street and +359 596 2 41 50. These are contacts to investigate, not confirmation of an available appointment, suitable treatment or insurance coverage.

Ask about the service needed, referral, language, documents and the full price. Keep the journey to Burgas in your planning for services you cannot establish locally. Read the shared healthcare and insurance/S1 chapters. A spa package is a separate leisure purchase; it does not establish a healthcare entitlement.

Try a routine before buying a membership

Grand Hotel Pomorie publishes a five-visit spa card at €180, valid one month, including fitness and indoor spa facilities. Outdoor pools are seasonal. The provider allows a card to be used by at most two guests. Our social and comfort examples choose five visits per adult: a couple budgets two cards for ten total visits. Two cards are not a mandatory couple membership. Confirm reservations and how visits are counted before sharing a card.

A daily coastal walk, a museum visit and one paid activity may be enough to start. Ask the tourist information centre for current cultural events. Language, adult participation and winter sessions need checking individually. Black Sea Living does not yet run a Pomorie club.

Check your stop and your last return

Pomorie’s tourist information centre explicitly offers information on transport to and from town and neighbouring places. Ask for the stop nearest your address, the current timetable and your return connection. Use one day of a trial stay for an actual journey to Burgas, with time for an errand there.

The municipal useful-phones page also lists the Urban Mobility Centre at +359 876 735 533. Our calculator’s €2 per bus ride remains a planning allowance, not a verified Pomorie fare. Replace it with your route’s price. The transport guide covers airport and regional planning.

Bring the budget back to the week you enjoyed

RED CLUB at 65 Knyaz Boris lists Lavazza coffee 50 ml at €1.79. Parmesan chicken €12, Shopska salad €7.50 and water 330 ml €1.50 make our €21 dinner example. It is a combination of menu items; opening for your dates is unconfirmed.

Select Pomorie in the calculator. Food benchmarks, utilities and unspecified allowances stay shared, so the result is not evidence that Pomorie is generally cheaper. Use your first stay to view homes, try a normal week and list unresolved costs. Rent the first year and experience winter before buying.
